Abstract: The purpose of our scholarly research is to analyze the theme of the Sahara in Algerian narrative imagination, specifically in the tourism sector. To accomplish this, we have selected to focus on "Timimoun," a novel by Algerian author Rachid Boudjedra. This author provides an alternative perspective on the Sahara that challenges the conventional depiction of it as a barren wasteland. Instead, he portrays it as a haven where people can seek refuge and find solace, despite its rugged terrain and harsh climate. The novel was penned during a period of significant insecurity in Algeria in the 1990s. In "Timimoun" novel, our research aimed to identify the implications of the new premise used by the author to represent a distinctive viewpoint of the Sahara. The narration highlights the enchanting and extraordinary aspects of the Sahara, producing a sense of admiration and providing a tourist narrative that alters the reader's perception, who hasn't visited and fully experienced the Sahara's charm.
