Negociaciones internacionales de servicios financieros: la experiencia internacional y el camino recorrido por Colombia

Abstract

This article points out the main aspects involved in the negotiation of financial services in the context of international free trade agreements. The principles established by the World Trade Organization are illustrated first. Then, some international agreements involving the negotiation of financial services are discussed, and finally, the position adopted by Colombia concerning the FTA with the United States is briefly reviewed.
