Despite the current importance of Environmental Education (EE), what happens within the classrooms is a scarcely studied. In this article we intend to describe the environmental and EE practices carried out by a sample of teachers from rural educational centers in Bogotá. For it we resort to an ethnomethodological method, using a technique of observation. The dimensions analyzed in the intervention in the classroom of the teachers were: the current of EE followed, the pedagogical and didactic models, the evaluation strategies used, and the mechanisms to articulate the environmental theme in the classes. The results are shown as frequencies for the different categories established in the observation. It is concluded that the practices of the teachers observed generally respond to the standards desirable for the EE, although with some exceptions related especially to the context in which they develop their teaching work.
