Geomorphosites are fundamental landforms, which should be safeguarded fromrisks of change provoked by anthropic actions related to the economic development of societies. Landforms are both heritage from the recent and past evolution of the planet as well as sites for human activities, so that landforms present intrinsic value, which society does not always taken into consideration. In this way, new research on Geomorphological Heritage, Geo-diversity and Geo-conservation has the objective of identifying, evaluating and proposing protection and publicizing conservation strategies about places of geomorphological interest. The main objective of the paper is to focus on concepts related to geomorphological heritage, to identify Brazilian laws on the subject and to present examples of research and methodologies used to evaluate geomorphosites.
