Abstract: Ideological polarization among elites plays a significant role thereby influencing educational policy in Algeria. It is assumed that the divergence in political visions and orientations among these elites has a direct impact on the formulation and even the implementation of educational policies. As a result, various differences are reflected in the efforts of each group to impose their own visions on the curriculum and educational policies, leading to ongoing fluctuations in policies according to political changes. For instance, at certain times, there may be a focus on deepening national identity by reinforcing the Arabic language and Islamic culture within the curriculum. In other periods, there may be a push towards enhancing foreign languages and embracing Western educational models. This alternation in educational policies hinders the stability of the educational system and negatively affects the quality and sustainability of education. Instead of being a means to achieve comprehensive and sustainable development, education becomes a battleground for political conflict. This paper aims to examine the intersection of ideological groups and assess the impact they have on educational policy and its orientations in Algeria.
