Late onset pacemaker lead fungal endocarditis in an immunocompetent host: A rare entity
Abstract
Intra-cardiac device related fungal endocarditis in an immunocompetent host is a rare occurrence. Early diagnosis and treatment are crucial for survival. Here we report a case of Aspergillus fumigatus related infective endocarditis in a 55-year-old immunocompetent male with dual chamber pacemaker who presented with pyrexia of unknown origin.
