Content Characteristics of the Heuristic Approach to Learning to Play the Trombone in China Music Schools

The article briefly presents the content characteristics of the heuristic approach in the trombone class of music schools in modern China. According to the author, the artistic idea of the actualization of this approach is to increase the level of subjectivity of students, diversify their musical and auditory “baggage”, the need to strengthen the interpretative and semantic component of the learning process. The objective prerequisites of this model are the individual form of training in the trombone class, the creative and performing basis of the educational process, as well as the specifics associated with the subjective physiological capabilities and independent actions of the student in the process of mastering instrumental and playing skills. The tasks of the heuristic approach in teaching a novice trombonist can be considered the formation and creation of the student’s own personal experience associated with the perception of the physiology of his body as an individual musical and performing apparatus, as well as the construction of his own meanings and goal­ setting of the educational process. Based on this, the heuristic approach in training combines cognitive and creative activities, and the ultimate goal is not the assimilation of specific knowledge and skills, but the implementation of creative self­realization of a novice trombonist. The actualization of the heuristic approach in the trombone class is based on methodological principles, including the principle of personal goal­setting of the student, individual development strategy, meta­subject content of the trombone class, learning productivity, contextual situativeness and educational reflection. In the real educational process, a combination of these methods is most often used. Their combination and contextual correlation are the prerogative of the teacher in the trombone class, the most important indicator of his professional competence.
