Abstract

Point of Care Tools are used for clinical decision making – UpToDate is also used in continuing medical education. These databases compile only evidence-based knowledge which is updated regularly. Using Point of Care Tools promises to improve clinical outcomes. UpToDate has been used at the University Hospital Hamburg-Eppendorf for the last four years. In a recent trial the use of ClinicalResource@Ovid/Clin-eguide and Dynamed has been evaluated in comparison with UpToDate.
