Since the second half of the XIX century, Romanian society was increasingly moving closer to European cultural trends. One of them was the organization of exhibitions, both economic (agricultural, industrial, technological), and art ones, in the European space and beyond. An important advantage of these events was that they brought together various manufacturers, facilitated the exchange of experience, mutual cooperation and the promotion of countries if the exhibitions were international. At the domestic level, simple fairs evolved into wide-scale local, regional or national exhibitions with the wide participation of well-known or lesser-known manufacturers and artists. Such exhibitions became “launch pads” for Romanian products and works of art.
