The Brazilian trade policy between the MERCOSUR´s crisis and the negotiations with the European Union

Abstract

The paper discusses the coupling of Brazil's trade policy to MERCOSUR in the context of institutional and operational crisis. The difficulty to conclude a bi-regional agreement with the EU should encourage Brazil to rethink the general framework for joint negotiations, seeking to develop new international reintegration mechanisms.
