Prueba de estimulación por frío como método predictivo del comportamiento tensional perioperatorio en pacientes hipertensos

Abstract

Se estudiaron 77 pacientes hipertensos pendientes de cirugía mayor electiva, a los cuales se les realizó prueba de estimulación por frío, 72 horas antes de la intervención para precisar la sensibilidad y especificidad de esta prueba en la predicción del comportamiento tensional perioperatorio en estos pacientes, así como precisar el punto de corte óptimo para el diagnóstico positivo de la prueba. Se encontró una correlación adecuada entre el comportamiento tensional perioperatorio y los resultados de la prueba. Su sensibilidad fue del 95,7 % y la especificidad del 98,1 %: el punto de corte óptimo se correspondió con el planteado en la literatura revisada.Seventy seven hypertensive patients who were waiting for a major surgical procedure were studied. All of them underwent a cold stimulation test, 72 hours before the operation in order to assess the sensitivity and specificity of this test for the prediction of perioperative blood pressure behaviour in these patients, as well as determine the optimum cut point for the positive diagnosis of the test. An adequate correlation was found between the perioperative blood pressure behaviour and the test results. Sensitivity was found to be of 95.7 %, and specificity of 98.1 %. The optimum cut point was consistent with the one reported in the literature.
