Género e identidad, elementos en la poesía comprometida de tres poetas chihuahuenses: Arminé Arjona, Susana Chávez y Micaela Solís

Abstract

By the end of the twentieth century the Mexican border cities experienced an accelerated industrial growth, simultaneously there has been a growing poetic denouncement against feminicide, particularly by female poets. One of the objectives of the artistic, intellectual and artistic collective protest has been to create a sensible debate on social-political border issues, and give a voice, representation and identity, to the juarenses women. The poetic denouncement offers creative representation elements to the current US/Mexico border culture as it coincides with a brutally violent period where hundreds of women have been systematically raped and murdered in Ciudad Juárez. The poetic work of Chihuahua’s female poets such as Arminé Arjona, Susana Chávez and Micaela Solís, convey literary importance due to the active poetic development, as for the solid representation against violence and feminicide in the US/Mexico border. Poems by the three aforementioned authors are used in order to illustrate essential border literary matters such as genre and identity.
