Tsybovsky et. al. report cryo-EM structures of tetrameric rat ALDH1L1 elucidating its architecture and domain interactions important for its functions. These findings emphasize the versatility of acyl/peptidyl carrier proteins in complex, highly dynamic enzymatic systems.
