The relevance of research. Constant updating of library information search systems and the usage of the most advanced search engines in digital catalogues are necessary for the active use of amassed documented knowledge and optimization of the access to information sources. The aim of the article is to study the process of detailing the section "R Health care. Medical Sciences" of the VNLU thematic navigator and the formation of the methodological apparatus of rubrics in the digital catalogue, proving the importance of the rubric detailing in order to improve its structure concurrence with the state of modern scientific activity in the medicine field. The importance of adapting the information search system of the scientific library to the changes in the structure of scientific knowledge is emphasized. It is noted that one of the processes of improvement of the search engine's linguistic support is the detailing of rubrics under which all the documents on priority areas of scientific knowledge and the most relevant research are collected. It was found that the details of the headings of the section "R Health care. Medical Sciences" and equipping them with the appropriate methodological apparatus greatly improves the scientific processing of documents. Conclusions. Careful formation of the methodical apparatus of rubrics is an important factor in optimizing the process of scientific processing of documents and a multifaceted systematic approach to the presentation of their content. The indication of classification indices and headings of UDC headings facilitates the deepening of the branched system of correspondence between the two classification schemes and improves the quality of parallel indexing of documents according to different classifications. Improving the linguistic support of the library's information search system creates conditions for more effective access to documens.
