La conquête de Mexico-Tenochtitlan dans le Codex Vaticanus A
Abstract
Among the pictorial books amoxtli which express in images the conquest of MexicoTenochtitlan, the Codex Vaticanus A or Codex Vaticano Ríos is probably the codex with more details. In two folios it offers a succinct but symbolically peculiar vision of the entrance of the Spanish into the Aztec capital, the encounter of Cortes with Motecuhzoma, and of the battles that followed, until Cuauhtemoc’s surrender on august 13th 1521.
