Pedagocycal Residence Program in Geography: experiences and practices beyond supervised internship
Abstract
Teaching practice in teacher training courses is not based on the teaching knowledge of future education professionals. Thus, in the Geography Degree course, the Supervised Curricular Internship is a mandatory component. However, due to various difficulties, it is not always able to achieve its proposed objectives. The Pedagogical Residency Program arose from the need to eliminate the following difficulties, in this training process as a distance between theory and practice during the performance of exercises. This study was studied in a reflection on the internship and the teaching practice as well as of teacherstraining, sought to analyze how experiences and practices, with regard to the program in the Geography licensing course at UEMS, Jardim Unit, MS, in the years 2018 and 2019. Adopting participant observation as a procedure from three program members, as suggested considerations about the need for such programs to be maintained and improved in the follow-up of teacher training courses.
