Metatarsal aneurysmal bone cyst: A cause of long-lasting foot pain in adolescence
Abstract
Aneurysmal bone cyst is a benign locally aggressive bone tumor that was first described in 1947. It affects most frequently long bones of the skeleton; its presence at the level of the metatarsal bone is very rare, which was firstly reported in 1957. We present herein a rare case of aneurysmal bone cyst in a 15-year-old female patient treated with excisional biopsy, curettage and bone grafting with favorable outcomes.
