Abstract This team-based learning (TBL) module on acid-base disorders focuses on the evaluation of acid-base status, the pathophysiology of disease that leads to common acid-base disorders, and the initial evaluation and treatment of patients with common acid-base derangements. The resource includes an instructor's guide, learning objectives, individual and group Readiness Assurance Tests (with correct answers bolded and answer explanations provided), and group application exercises (again with correct answers bolded and answer explanations provided). The instructor's guide gives a detailed overview of how to go about implementing the module and where to find more information about TBL if the instructor is using this method for the first time. This module was originally designed to be utilized in the context of the third-year medical student clerkship in internal medicine and was written at that level of complexity. The module is designed to take approximately 90 minutes to complete.
