The Quality Debate
Abstract
In Part One, I focused upon the need for student support services to address such questions as: Why should universities fund Student Support Services? How do Student Support Services fit with or advance the mission of the University? How do we conceptualise and assess “quality” within Student Support Services? To address these questions, I interviewed a number of Directors of Student Services at several Universities within North America. In this second contribution I wish to provide extracts from an interview with Dr Tom MaGuiness, Director of Student Services, Boston College.
