The replication study examines whether the students-perceived role of English in the completion of their studies is also shared by their instructors, and whether increasing the sample size would also increase the validity coefficients of the instruments used as Graduate Program Admission Tests at the State University of Malang Graduate Program. New data were collected using questionnaires and documents. The result shows that, inspite of the lack of relationship between students' English and their GPA, both students and instructors believe that English has an important role in the completion of graduate studies. It also indicates that the increase of sample size has decreased the validity coeffients of all the instruments
