Abstract

Currently, the observed increase in activity of Polish insurance companies is primarily reflected in the development of modern insurance services, including those offered through the Internet, in improving marketing strategies and in actions aimed at intensifying actions in order to start insurance business in foreign markets. In all these areas of activity an important role is being played by the use of information and communication technologies and by having an appropriate e-business strategy. Article aims to describe the types of e-business strategies used in the insurance business and the importance of the use of information and communication technologies in supporting the basic directions of development of the Polish insurance companies.
