This study sought to investigate the possible implications of Emergency Remote Teaching (ERT) for the teaching of undergraduate students in Chemistry at the University of the State of Pará during the period of social isolation, which was used at the time as a strategy to contain the spreading of Covid-19. We opted for a qualitative exploratory research with structured interviews through a virtual environment, using Bardin's content analysis (2011). The results revealed three categories that emerged from the students' answers: Obstacles, Low performance and Advantages of employing the ERT. It was noticed that the use of the ERT became an additional challenge in the initial training of these future teachers.
