El papel de internet en la circulación del ideario neoliberal: una mirada a las redes de Thinks Tanks latinoamericanos de las dos últimas décadas
Abstract
This article explores the links between Latin American Internet actors who define themselves as think tanks and participate in the production and dissemination of knowledge defending the economic postulates set out in the Washington Consensus. To measure these links, graph theory and social network analysis tools were used to calculate links, distances between actors and to show their possible centrality in a network relationship on Internet. The term "network" implies the existence of different categories of participants involved in a chain of cooperation that can be institutionalized or informal, direct or indirect, openly claimed or hidden. After defining the term think tank, this study shows how the network is articulated, in the sense of a "community of actors", with think tanks called hubs. Thanks to the use of graphs, it was possible to highlight the key role of these hubs, which play a role of bridge between the actors considered in this study.
