The article is devoted to the presentation of complex bibliological and literary research, aimed at the scientific bibliography register, introduction into scientific use and exploration of Ukrainian poetry, printed within old-printed editions of the late 16th through the 18th centuries. The catalogues of Cyrillic old-printed editions featured more than 130 masterpieces of Ukrainian emblematic poetry, which accompanies book engraving (emblems and illustrations). Such poetic texts are not only outstanding literary monuments, but also original elements of book art decoration and the distinctive feature of book culture of Ukraine of the end of the late 16th through the 18th centuries. In the copies of Cyrillic old-printed editions from the funds of Vernadsky National Library of Ukraine more than 160 examples of Ukrainian poetry were found. Part of them is not mentioned in bibliography. Compilation of unifi ed register of analytic bibliographical descriptions of such big amount of poetry would form a basis for further exploration of poetry from other library funds. The catalogue-anthology, which is planned to be made based on the found poems, will consist of three main blocks: 1) historic and literary study of emblematic poetry as a part of old-printed edition; 2) facsimile images of poetry with its transliteration by the means of modern Ukrainian alphabet; 3) analytic bibliographic description of poetic texts with detailed notes on its place and function in the structure of the book, its further reprints and information about it in bibliographic sources of the 19-21th centuries. Such edition will be useful not only for philologists, but also for a wide range of investigators, who are interested in the history of Ukrainian book. In future the data, attained during our investigation, may be useful for creation of an informational electronic resource.
