Citizen acceptance and use of the Jakarta Kini (JAKI) e-government: Extended unified model for electronic government adoption
Abstract
E-government presents many benefits for the government in providing public services to the community. However, there are obstacles for certain community members to use e-government in Indonesia. This study is aimed to analyze the factors that influence users to adopt electronic government (e-government) such as Jakarta Kini (JAKI) application in Indonesia. This study used a quantitative approach by conducting a survey of 595 respondents who live or work in the province of DKI Jakarta, Indonesia's capital city. The data obtained were analyzed using covariance-based structural equation modelling and the AMOS 24 application. The results showed that government capacity, performance expectancy, information quality, service quality, computer self-efficacy, trust of government, perceived risk, and attitude influence behavioral intention and usage behavior for the e-government application. However, facilitating conditions and trust of the internet did not influence behavioral intention to use the e-government application. This study enriches the theory of the Unified Model of E-Government Adoption (UMEGA) which is adapted to the context of developing countries. This study provides guidance to developers and the government for the development of e-government in the future. Since this study focuses on JAKI, future studies could compare the results of this study with other context and scope of different e-government applications.
