Expression of chicken interleukin-2(IL-2) in E. coli. and preparation of its polyclonal antibody

Abstract

Interleukin-2 (IL-2) is known to play a number of functions in the modulation of immunity. In this study the chicken IL-2 gene was cloned into a prokaryon vector pET-28b and the recipient cell of E. coli. BL21 was transformed with the recombinant expression vector pET-28b-IL-2. IL-2 was expressed under the induction of IPTG as identified by SDS-PAGE. An emulsion was prepared with the purified IL-2 and injected into rabbits. The polyclonal antibody in the rabbit serum is identified by ELISA and Western blotting.
