A 1-month-old, full-term male infant received a neonatology consultation because of a localized, well-delimited, waxy alopecic area on his scalp that had been present since birth. Apart from the scalp lesion, a physical examination and neurological and ophthalmological observations revealed no abnormalities. The patient had a non-pathological medical history, and his development was appropriate for his age. He was born to a healthy mother via caesarian delivery, and his birth weight was 3,330 g. The infant had no family history of similar skin lesions or known genetic disorders. • What is your diagnosis? • How should you follow up this case? • When should you worry about this lesion and refer the patient to other specialists?
