Environmental education today: the societies needs and the Botanical gardens possibilities

Abstract

Environmental education is one of the priorities of the Botanical garden of Irkutsk state University. Staff members of the Botanic garden conduct common excursions, thematic exhibitions and interactive sessions for students and pupils, arrange ecological festivals, give consultation and organize practical courses of gardening and landscape design workshops. This work is carried out taking into account the existing needs in the society and the analysis of the motivation of different groups of visitors.
