« Objets Etc. » : pratiques autres dans l’art brésilien des années 1960
Abstract
The aim of this study is to analyze the network of artists, dealers, institutions, and art critics in Brazil between the 1965 and 1969. The production of objects outside of traditional norms – in particular « boxes » – and the legitimation processes arising from this new practice are observed in order to study the functioning of the art system. The productions of artists with varied vocations and desires, and in particular artists who are not among the big names of the avant-garde of the time, are analyzed.
