THE IMAGE AND THE NAME OF JESUS CHRIST IN THE CREEDS OF NEOKRISHNAISM

Abstract

Purpose. The article covers the image and name of Jesus Christ, considered in the context of neokrishnaism and in the context of Christianity, in which they are profoundly studied at the moment. Disclosure of the interpretation of the studied phenomena is the purpose of this work. Methodology. The researchrelies on the comparative historical method, the method of philosophical analysis, as well as the general scientific method of analogy. Results. The results are that the author reveals the essence of the interpretation of the Jesus Christ’s name and his image in neokrishnaismas aspects of the Hindu god Krishna. In the opinion of the International Society for Krishna Consciousnessreligious leader Bhaktivedanta Svami Prabhupada, it draws Christianity and neokrishnaism together. Within the scope of the research the author analyzes the meaning of “Christ” and other names of God from the standpoint of neokrishnaismand Christian theology. The detailed analysis of the Jesus Christ’simageallowed to reveal the attitude of theISKCON followers to his personality and Christian doctrine in general. Principal implications. The results of the study can be used in the philosophical analysis of various religious images, as well as in studies on the philosophy of religion, onomastic. The results of the research can also be applied in the teaching of religious study.
