PECULIARITIES OF THE CATEGORIZATION OF POLYSEMANTIC ADJECTIVESREPRESENTATIVES OF THE CONCEPT IDENTITY (ON THE BASIS OF MEXICAN AND CHILEAN NATIONAL VARIANTS OF THE SPANISH LANGUAGE)
Abstract
The article is devoted to the study of the рeculiarities of the categorization of polysemantic adjectives with the semantic meaning of “being identical.” Modeling of the corresponding category on the basis of these adjectives was carried out by determining the prototype, central members, near and far periphery. The national-cultural specificity of the category “to be identical” and its language implementation in the Mexican and Chilean national variants of the Spanish language are analyzed. The semantic shift makes evident the progress of the process of cognition, exploration of facts, processes and objects of the surrounding reality by a certain linguacultural community. The leakage of the above actions within the semantic structure of a word makes evidence the reality and obviousness of national-cultural specificity, which is reflected and expressed with the help of linguistic units. In this regard, it is interesting to compare construction processes of prototype models and conceptualization of semantic shift within the framework of equivalent lexical units on the material of different languages or different national variants of the same language. Such a comparison will help to identify the culturological component of the semantic structure of the word. Relevance is due to the need to determine the national-cultural specificity of the functioning of the polysemantic adjectives-representatives of the concept IDENTITY in the language picture of the world of Mexico and Chile. The aim is to find the culturological component of the “be identical” category, which is the key of the content structure of the concept under study, in Mexican and Chilean national versions of the Spanish language.
