This study was aimed at assessing clinical features of camptocormiaas one of the symptoms of dystonia and evaluating theeffectiveness of various treatments for this condition. The studyinvolved 39 patients with dystonia and camptocormia symptoms. We analyzed the clinical features of dystonic camptocormia, evaluated the results of pharmacotherapy and botulinum therapy,as well as neuromodulation methods, namely transcranialmagnetic stimulation and deep brain stimulation. It was shownthat phased and integrated approach is required to manage patientswith camptocormia caused by dystonic hyperkinesis. Localinjection of botulinum toxin and deep brain stimulation are themost effective treatments. More extensive use of low-frequencytranscranial magnetic stimulation may be advisable for everydaypractical use in patients with dystonic prosternation.
