Effects of prolactin on bone remodeling process with parathyroid hormone supplement: an impulsive mathematical model

Abstract

Abstract In this paper, we investigate the effect of prolactin on bone remodeling process with the impulsive supplement of parathyroid hormone. An impulsive mathematical model is developed and analyzed theoretically in order to obtain the conditions on the parameters of the model for which the net bone formation might be expected from the parathyroid hormone supplement. Numerical investigation is also carried out to confirm our theoretical predictions. The dosage and the frequency of parathyroid hormone supplement turned out to be the keys for the effective parathyroid hormone supplement.
