L’apporto spagnolo nella riabilitazione del romanzo libertino francese
Abstract
During last thirty years, in France numerous publications have appeared which intend to analyze the French libertine novel under a new light. Even though they are still little known to French criticism, in Spain some interesting studies which are focused on French libertine novel in the Eighteenth century have been realized. However, contemporary criticism aims to rehabilitate libertine literature inserting it in the ideas story and in literary movements of the century of the Enlightenment. Libertine literature has been forgotten for a long time because the plot was focused on body and its impulses. Numerous French researchers have undoubtedly obtained the major contribution in order to restart and broadcast. However, it is worth noting the critic approach which has been proposed by Spanish researchers, on closer inspection, have studied libertine literature as a whole taking into account the origin of the libertine movement on the one hand and on the other one the elements that distinguish this literary genre from others. If you consider this literary renovation in a more general context, it is possible to conclude Spanish scholars have given a critical, anthological and relevant contribution and they have had the merit for analyze the eighteenth French literature in a wider social and literary context that pays attention to the literary context and different areas such as philosophy, religion and history too.
