NADA SOBRE NÓS, SEM NOSSOS CORPOS! O LOCAL DO CORPO DEFICIENTE NOS DISABILITY STUDIES

Abstract

This text is an adaptation of my monograph research that I conducted observing how the sociocultural theorization about the disability (disability studies)gained new pathways from a possible analytical "centrality" given to the materiality of the disabledbody from the 1990son. The article gives a brief overview of the Euro-American constitution of disability studies and critically discusshow the body was widely interpreted as an organic data in which culture is inscribed. The discussion proposes to question historically and politically, through critical visions of disability, the very material constitution of human bodies as universally biological entities, aiming to discuss the sociocultural bases of what we have now learned to do as disability studies.
