In the following writing we present the analysis and the complete transcription of a document from 1693 located in the Historical Archive of the Province of Córdoba, Argentina. The document is a Governing Council issued by the governor Martín de Jauregui in which he orders all the neighbors of the government to submit the titles and real confirmations of their encomiendas to the Cabildo`s clerk in order to verify their legality. Although the order is issued for the entire government, the document presented here is the one that corresponds to its compliance by the neighbors of the Córdoba jurisdiction. We believe that the importance of this document is based on three issues; on the first place, it is contemporary with the visit to the encomiendas of the Tucumán by the oidor of the Charcas Audiences, Antonio Martínez Lujan de Vargas (1692-1694), which shows a process of control of the colonial authorities towards the encomenderos broader than what was previously thought. Secondly, it provides complete information on each one of the encomiendas existing in the jurisdiction of Córdoba since it incorporates information that allows the reconstruction of the history of each of them, especially of the denaturalized groups of the Calchaquí valley and the Chaco. Thirdly, Governor Jauregui's Auto directs us to other conjunctures and previous processes of the region such as the Calchaquíes wars and the regulations issued by other governors, incorporating different papers from previous years as evidentiary documents.
