A Guerra-Revista da sombra da Grande Guerra
Abstract
Published between 1926 and 1932, A GUERRA-REVISTA (“THE WAR-MAGAZINE”) was due to the interest of the Combatants League of the Great War by the soldiers who returned sick and helpless to the national soil and partially to the homage of the dead. The call for attention to the “heroes” was made through texts and beautiful engravings (which have already been studied). Among the texts I have been interested especially in those of greater literary quality, in which the poems predominate, although some narratives in prose also have it, and some theatre plays. The verses are grouped in several ways, giving the whole an interesting variety and registering multiple tones. I also paid special attention to the enthusiastic presentation of the magazine and to the sorrow caused by the forced farewell.
