Two triorganotin carboxylates of 1-methyl-1H-imidazole-4-carboxylic acid (HL), Cy3SnL and C6H5C(CH3)2CH2SnL, have been prepared by the reaction of the ligand with tricyclohexyltin hydroxide and fenbutatin oxide, respectively. The complexes were characterized by 1H NMR, infrared, and elemental analysis. The molecular structure of complex 1 was determined by using a single-crystal X-ray diffraction analysis. Preliminary bioassay indicated complex 1 exhibiting good and broad-spectrum fungicidal activities.
