The illicit and flagrant blockade imposed by the United States on Cuba is focused on progressively overthrowing the revolutionary government. Its resurgence and harmful impact on the health sector have shown a clear upward trend. The objective of this work was to exemplify the consequences that the economic, commercial and financial blockade has had for the Cuban National Health System in the last decade. The breakdown of commercial relations with several companies, the obstacles to the arrival of donations in the country, the difficulty in buying products with more than 10% of component from American origin, the great economic losses, the denial of access to updated medical information and the campaigns of disrepute highlight the deleterious consequences of the blockade for the health sector in Cuba in the aforementioned period.
