LETTER TO EDITOR A Survey of Cancer Rehabilitation Professionals Regarding Emerging Topics in the Field

Abstract

Dear Editor, Due in part to the increasing numbers of cancer survivors and mostly the num- ber of cancer patients who live longer than 5 years from diagnosis, cancer reha- bilitation services have experienced increased interest and demand.1,2,3 However, the field of cancer rehabilitation still faces numerous obstacles including incomplete and inconsistent payer coverage, under referral by oncology specialists,4,5,6 an under-recognized need by patients,7 insufficient numbers of cancer rehabilitation professionals, inconsistent cancer rehabilitation integration into training programs,8 and a need for more research.9
