« Ranimer les ruines » : l’archéologie dans l’Afrique latine de Louis Bertrand
Abstract
In the first decades of the xxth century, Louis Bertrand, herald of a renewed Latinity in North Africa, had a great interest in local Roman remains. His project of "resurrection" of these ruins through their integration into the colonial culture, supported by the propaganda of an organ which he helped to create, the Société des amis de Carthage et des villes d’or (Sdac), emphasizes the complexity of his relation to the archeology and archaeologists.
