Synovial sarcomas are the most common sarcomas of the extremities. However, they are rarely seen in the head and neck region and only 2 cases in the nape of the neck have been reported in the literature. Hemangiopericytomas are neoplasms of vascular origin that are rarely seen in the head and neck region. There have been only 1 case of hemangiopericytoma of the nape of the neck reported in the literature. If not totally removed, these tumors may recur locally and metastazise to the other parts of the body. Therefore, the best treatment of these lesions is total excision. In this paper one case of synovial sarcoma and one case of hemangiopericytoma of the nape are presented and their clinical, radiological, histopathological features, and treatment modalities are discussed.
