In more than twenty short stories of Andal Priyadharshini, the character name ‘Saraswathi’ has been used. The characters Saraswathi is characterised as lovable, courageous, truthful, self-confidence, forgivable, reality, nature of struggle. The character is shown with improved lifestyle and with great humanity. In Andal Priyadharshini’s stories, ‘Saraswathi’ character is witnessed for her strong feminine qualities. It signifies the modern woman of Bharathi and relies as a true model of the present women generation. It creates a space for the saraswathi archetype in the Tamil literary scenario. Today’s generation of women needs such role model to keep their lives bold and courageous with other virtues.Hence, the article deciphers the virtues of the character ‘Saraswathi’ and the ideology behind the works of Priyadharshini.
