In this paper, we focus on linguistic landscapes (LL) as multi-semiotic elements mediating formal and non-formal language learning and multilingual contact environments. After discussing different possibilities of working with LL in the classroom, we argue that the multimodal transposition of LL from their authentic environments of production and reception to the classroom allows for reflexive work on interlingual and intercultural contacts in general and on the process of LL constitution, more specifically. We will quantitatively and qualitatively analyze data from the piloting of an app by (future) language teachers who created games on the app's interface supported by the app designers. We will analyze how these language teachers conceive working with LL in class, especially as a tool for bringing together outdoor and indoor environments for language learning and for the promotion of plurilingualism.
