In the crystal structure of the title compound, C18H18O4, the full molecule is generated by the application of an inversion centre. The molecule is essentially planar, with an r.m.s. deviation of 0.017 (1) Å for all non-H atoms. The molecules are linked through intermolecular C—H...O interactions to form a molecular sheet parallel to the (overline{1}02) plane.
