Źródła archiwalne do dziejów Kościoła ormiańskokatolickiego we współczesnych zbiorach lwowskich archiwów, bibliotek i muzeów
Abstract
Archival sources to the church history of Polish Armenians in the archives, libraries and museums of contemporary Lwów (Lviv, Lvov) The article discusses the rich collection of unique documents of various origins which have to do with Armenian issues and which were produced in the course of a few centuries in Poland. Some of the sources that are discussed were destroyed or were lost in unexplained circumstances. Other sources found their way in various collections and became a part of the collections of European scholarly institutions. The archive materials kept in the contemporary Lvov institutions were produced in various offices by ecclesiastical and secular institutions. They were written in the Armeno-Qypchak, Old Armenian (grabar), West Armenian, Latin, Polish, Italian and German languages. This linguistic variety is a result of inter alia a number of waves of Armenian settlers in the territories of Poland and the changing administrative authorities of the areas inhabited by the Polish Armenians in the 19th and 20th centuries. The archive materials that are presented constitute a good source material for researchers representing various fields of expertise of the humanities: historians, art historians, cultural studies experts, linguists, religious studies experts, sociologists, theologians, liturgists etc.
