A review on polyaniline (PANI) based nanocomposites for water purification
Abstract
Sustainable supply of clean water is one of the ultimate challenges of 21st century. To date, numerous materials have been tested to extract water pollutants, of which PANI-based nanocomposites are more desirable owing to their various unique properties. In this connection, the vital concern about pollution caused by organic pollutants and wastewater treatment using PANI-based nanocomposite materials, and the recent significant developments in this field, it is necessary to conduct a thematic review. This review summarizes recent progresses in dye containing wastewater treatment utilizing various PANI-based nanocomposites. Furthermore, synthetic routes, removal efficiencies, adsorption capacities, and experimental conditions of the various nanocomposites towards wastewater treatment are also summarized. From the findings, it is obvious that PANI-based nanocomposites could be a promising material for efficient dye remediation.
