Due to the lockdown many young people have been “forced” to family circumstances characterized by dysfunctional relational modalities. These domestic conditions of extreme proximity have, at times, significantly affected the psychological health of children and adolescents, especially in those contexts where mobility limitations and space restrictions have become forebearers of aggression and violence. Although perfectly aware that such a high-impact event is not entirely comprehensible by observing it “in media res”, an attempt has been made to analyse to what extent the pandemic is to be held as the sole responsible for the discomfort and/or dysfunctional behavior of young people. In the present article, from a methodological point of view, the focus was put on sources and data referring to the Italian context, with a look at authoritative foreign sources.
