The paper is meant to present and analyse the semiotic strategies set up by human behaviour in semiotic interaction, with a particular emphasis on manipulation and sanction, extremely present in daily interactions. These strategies are studied by the author both at the content and at the form level, with relevant examples from various semiotics like literature or art, with a view to enhance the enunciator’s ability to make believe and the addressee’s capacity to judge and sanction. Enunciation acts at a cognitive level, being mainly an “illusion”, that is a semiotic construct, with no referential character, founded on the seeming instead of the being.
