Quality of analytical bibliographic records for journals articles in electronic publishing project of the Egyptian Universities Union Catalog

Abstract

The Current Study aimed at profound recognizing the identity and structure of the analytical records and showing examples of foreign and Arabic indexing projects. It also aimed at shedding light on the indexing project related to the The union catalog of Egyptian university libraries by identifying the stages of the indexing project. Recognition of the main stages of papering the analytical records and the technical tools used, is one of the essential aims of the current study. In the meantime, the researcher also identified the errors committed within the analytical records and indicated the points of views of those who work with the indexing project and their justifications of such errors. The researcher used both the descriptive analytical and evaluative methods to achieve the objectives of the current study.
